ANOTHER STICK: 365/59
My husband is now on the lookout for me. He found these smaller sticks at Whole Foods in the cosmetic department. The end was straight across and fairly thin. I think it worked very well. Lots of line variation possible and the flat end allows for the drybrush effect when most of the ink is used up on the stick. I am pleased with this drawing.

THERE'S A POSIE ON MY NOSIE 365/58
This is what happens when you try and come up with a title when tired. Fortunately, I draw better than I write!

FIRST VIDEO! 365/50
Hopefully, I will be able to create a little video of my drawing each day! The Flip Mini Camcorder is an exciting new tool I am learning to use. Any tips and suggestions are welcome.

STICKING TO IT! 365/49
A few years ago I took a workshop in Michigan and brought back some sticks and twigs from a Cedar Tree. Amazingly, they are still in great shape and fun to draw with. I really like the wonderful variation in line in this drawing. The division of this square was also more effective to place a drawing over.

SMACK DAB IN THE MIDDLE: 365/47
I continue to work with a continuous line drawing trying different drawing instruments. I used the brush on the Tombow double ended pen. I think it is rather clumsy so I want to develop the ability to create a more sensitive line with it. I do like how what is underneath impacts the color of the line.
PRESIDENT'S DAY: 365/46
Computer problems prevented me from publishing last night. Everything healed itself overnight (how do these machines work?), so I am still on track!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY: 365/45
This was a continuous line contour drawing with the Japanese brush pen. Even I was surprised when I saw it was two minutes exactly when I finshed. I am feeling like I am gaining control of this tool.

A NEW SLANT: 365/43
I was rereading my book on drawing by Robert Kaupelis (see book section on Creativity Journey Blog). One idea was to start the contour drawing from the bottom. I barely had room for the eyes on this one but the placement turned out rather well in retrospect.

HALO OR BULLSEYE? 365/41
I have plans for all these drawings. At the end of the year I will make a book of the entire year's project. It will be nice to have them all in one place. The other plans are to collage them into a larger self portrait. I want to use like backgrounds together, so all the ones that have the full quilt pattern will go together and the drawings on individual blocks will go together and then the Sunday drawings on plain paper will go together. I need 36 compatible squares so I have to wait awhile until I have more accumulated.
I liked this calendar so much, I purchased a second one while it was still available. After the year starts, they practically give these things away! The backs of the pages have line drawings without color. I can draw on these, as well.

INSIPID: 365/39
This is one insipid quilt pattern! I am reading a book on Nancy Crow and her spectacular art quilts. Inspiring!!!

FLOWN AWAY: 365/37
One glass of wine with dinner and I am loose as a goose in my drawing. This pattern is called flying geese. Years ago, when I was working with silk and dyes, I made a wall hanging using this pattern. I even used the dark green color! All the silk was dyed in the microwave. Life seems to cycle around and around.

CENTERED 365/34
I really like this pattern. I may use it for a larger painting. Had to go over some of the lines with a heavier marker to show up.

TITLED OUT! 365/33
The most difficult part of this blog is coming up with a clever title for the post. Maybe I should have a contest. I couldn't think of a thing for this one. Feel free to contribute any ideas you may have.
